The 333rd Markham Scout Group was founded in April 2003 and by September 2009 we
will be starting our seventh year of scouting in the Chinese Martyrs Catholic Church.
Every parent wants the best for their children and most parents would agree that kids do
better when they get away from the television and do fun things, like experience the great
outdoors. Scout Canada gives children the opportunity to do just that.Kids who participate
in scouting learn the importance of strong values and accountability while
having a blast!
As a Scout, you enjoy dynamic outdoor youth programs like hiking, camping and a wide
variety of water activities. But there is more to Scouting than just the outdoors. You can
also participate in programs that help develop self-confidence, teamwork and leadership
skills. Scouting helps young people learn about and respect the environment,
their communities and their world. Catholic elements will be incorporated into our program.
There is also a great emphasis on passing the Chinese culture to our next generation.
The scouting year starts from September each year and ends at the last day of August. For
the past years, our members had actively participated in great variety of scouting activities.
Do you want your children to have fun? Do you want them to love coming to the church?
Do you want them to contribute in church's activities? Do you want them to develop self-
confidence, team spirit and leadership skills? Our group offers these.
We are also recruiting leaders. If you have the time and would like to contribute to the
scouting activities, we hope you will contact us immediately. We can assure you that
your volunteer involvement will be very rewarding. Come and have some fun with us!
